THE SUM OF ITS PARTS

Fashion Film

The Sum of its Parts explores the intersection of identity and physicality through the lens of skin and body part transplant. Latex, mesh, soluble thread and non-wovens are used to weave the intricate tapestry of visual metaphor to broach the question: how much can you lose before you lose yourself?

The collection challenges the distinction we place on one another— are we really individuals or just beings ultimately connected to one another? Do we lose our identity by the stripping of our physical body that is then transplanted to someone else? And the age old question of, who am I? Am I merely the sum of my parts?
